Rebecca Baskin, M.D., joins Williamson Medical Group’s Breast Health Center
Williamson Medical Center is happy to announce that Rebecca Baskin, M.D., has joined Williamson Medical Group’s accredited Breast Health Center as the primary breast surgeon and breast health specialist.
Baskin, who is a survivor of breast cancer herself, has more than 14 years of experience in dealing with breast health and breast cancer and seven years ago, after her own treatment, tailored her practice to focus specifically on surgeries and issues of the breast.
“We couldn’t be more excited to welcome Dr. Baskin to our team of amazing providers at our Breast Health Center,” said WMC’s Associate Administrator for Operations, Tim Burton. “To have a surgeon of her caliber join the team we have in place already just allows us to elevate our service another notch.”
Baskin, who has practiced in the greater Nashville area since completing her residency, says she joined Williamson Medical Group because the leadership was focused and passionate about the health care of this community.
“I love that at the Breast Health Center I don’t have to talk to someone in another state about a patient,” she
said. “I can get a fast, personal response from a local professional
about one of my patients. I like that the imaging center is integrated into the Breast Health Center and that they have
the latest in 3-D mammography and Tomosynthesis equipment. There is a direct connection and a team approach to how we care for patients from the very beginning.”
Baskin is a board certified surgeon and earned her medical degree from East Tennessee State University in Johnson City, Tn., and did
her residency in general surgery at Good Samaritan Hospital in Cincinnati, Ohio.
Williamson Medical Group’s Breast Health Center has been named one of America’s Best Breast Centers for the past two years by the Women’s Choice Awards. It is also an NAPBC and Commission on Cancer accredited facility. The Breast Health Center can be reached by calling 615-595-4570.
