Cardiac Services at Williamson Medical Center

Chest Pain Center

WMC’s Chest Pain Center provides advanced monitoring and evaluation to determine the patient’s risk of a cardiac event. Our Chest Pain Center follows the gold standard treatment for cardiac care as outlined by the American Heart Association.

Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory

Williamson Medical Center is a leader in providing interventional cardiology to patients having heart attacks. Cardiac catheterization is used to detect and evaluate conditions of the heart. Catheter-based intervention offers patients shorter hospital stays, reduced recovery time without the pain of the large incision and minimal surgical scarring. The procedure also reduces the risks and recovery time found in traditional surgical approaches.

Cardiac Stress Testing

Cardiac stress testing is a process to test the capacity of the heart and detect blockages. A series of tests compares a patient’s resting heart rate and the heart rate under duress to determine the amount of physical activity the heart can endure.

Accredited Cardiac and Pulmonary Rehabilitation

Accredited by the American Association of Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Rehabilitation, WMC’s Cardiac and Pulmonary Rehabilitation program uses physical exercise and education to help patients regain an optimal level of physical, mental and social well-being. Click here to learn more.

Surviving the “widow maker”

To Elizabeth Tyer, Williamson Medical Center is where she got her life back. She never expected to have a “widow maker” heart attack in her early 40s, but when she called EMS after sickness that worsened by the hour, our paramedics were able to communicate the status of Elizabeth’s condition so that when they arrived, doctors and nurses were standing by and ready to go.

She had a stent inserted into her aortic artery within the hour and credits the fast response time and knowledgeable cardiologists at WMC with the reason she is here to tell her story today.
