Shari has been a Physician Assistant with Williamson Medical Group for 5 years. A native of Georgia, Shari received her master’s degree at the Medical College of Georgia in Augusta. She went on to work in pulmonary critical care at Peidmont and Wellstar Health Systems. After spending several years working in the Intensive Care Unit, Shari began to see a need emerge for improvement in communication between families and the health care team of the patient. It was then that Shari began her career in Palliative Care. The goal for her is helping the families she works with understand not only the trajectory of a diagnosis but to be educated on treatment options to ensure that the treatment choices families make align with their long term goals. Twenty-twenty marks her eighth year working in palliative care and she has made it a priority to bring awareness of the benefits of palliative care and the importance of advance care planning to the medical field and to the community.

In her free time Shari enjoys spending time with her brothers, nieces and nephews. She is also an avid adventure traveler. After recently tackling Mount Kilimanjaro and Everest Base Camp she is on the hunt for her next big adventure.
