Todd Wurth M.D.

Todd Wurth, M.D., is a board-certified orthopaedic surgeon specializing in treatment of the shoulder, elbow, hand and wrist. Dr. Wurth has a particular expertise in shoulder arthroplasty, including Exactech CT guided navigation, rotator cuff repair, carpal tunnel release and A1 pulley release. He has been recognized by the Nashville Business Journal multiple times as one of “Nashville’s Best Hand Surgeons” and commonly treats conditions like trigger finger, shoulder, hand and wrist arthritis, rotator cuff tears, fractures and carpal tunnel. He earned his medical degree in 1998 from the University of Louisville School of Medicine, and completed his residency in orthopaedic surgery at the Indiana University Medical Center. Dr. Wurth completed fellowship training at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh in the areas of hand, wrist, elbow, shoulder and microvascular surgery. He is a fellow in the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and a member of the American Society for Surgery of the Hand with a certificate of added qualifications in surgery of the hand. He served as director of Orthopaedic Operations for the Southern division of Vanderbilt University Department of Orthopaedic Surgery from 2012-2018 and was president of Vanderbilt Bone and Joint from 2009-2012. Dr. Wurth served 12 years as team physician at Independence High School and previously served as part-time team physician for the Indianapolis Indians. He is the current team physician for Nolensville High School. Dr. Wurth was also the recipient of the Vanderbilt Medical Group Five-Star Excellence Award for top scores in patient satisfaction. He and his wife have two children and enjoy boating, fishing, golfing and physical fitness.
