The health and safety of our patients, staff, visitors, and the community remain our top priority. Our COVID-19 Task Force and Infection Prevention Team are constantly reviewing and updating our current policies, restrictions and keeping up with the latest CDC guidelines.

It is important that everyone visiting our facilities follows the recommended safety measures – wear a face mask at all times, keep 6 feet of distance from others and wash hands frequently with soap and water or use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer. Hand sanitizer stations are available throughout our campus. Visitors must supply their own masks in order to conserve our PPE.

Before entering the hospital, all visitors are required to:

  • wear a face mask before entering and keep the face mask on at all times and
  • be screened for a fever and not be exhibiting any COVID-19 symptoms.
  • COVID-19 symptoms include:
    • any household contact tested positive for COVID-19 in the past 14 days
    • fever (Temp > 37.8° C / 100° F)
    • cough
    • sore throat
    • shortness of breath or difficulty breathing
    • loss of taste or smell
    • nasal congestion
    • diarrhea of 3 or more stools  in a 24 hour period
    • unexplained headaches
    • unexplained muscle aches

For the health and safety of everyone, some visitor restrictions do remain. Thank you for your understanding during this difficult time.

Williamson Medical Center continues to follow the latest CDC guidelines to ensure that current measures are being taken to protect our patients, visitors, and staff and mitigate the impact of COVID-19 on the community.

Our current visitation policy:

Visiting hours are every day from 7:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m.

  • COVID positive patients:
    • Only 1 visitor per day; We recommend that it is the same person each day.
    • The visitor will be provided gloves, a disposable or reusable gown, and eyewear, in addition to the ear loop mask they are wearing upon entry.
    • For staff safety, once the visitor leaves the room, we recommend they leave the hospital.
    • No overnight stays.
  • Non-COVID CCU patients:
    • No limit on the number of visitors.
  • Non-COVID inpatients:
    • No limit on the number of visitors.
  • Adult ER:
    • 2 visitors per patient, per ER visit. No visitors are allowed if the patient is COVID positive.
  • Pediatric ER:
    • 2 adult visitors at a time. Visitation is restricted to 1 adult visitor if the patient is COVID positive.
  • Obstetrics:
    • 1 significant other and 1 support person per patient. Both can stay overnight. Visitation is restricted to 1 significant other if the patient is COVID positive.
  • Inpatient Pediatrics:
    • 2 adult visitors at a time. Both may stay overnight.
  • Same day surgery patients:
    • Because of limited space in the waiting areas, we are still not allowing visitors.

Childbirth Floor
Mothers who are delivering may have one support person during their entire stay; this includes those needing NICU services. It is our top priority to keep everyone safe during this time. If you have any questions, please talk with your physician. Thank you for your understanding during this challenging time.

Those who meet one of the visitation exceptions must enter the hospital through a designated entrance where they will be greeted by a staff member who will perform a brief screening to assess for symptoms and other risk factors.

Outpatient Facilities and Williamson Medical Group (WMG) Clinics
We ask that patients visiting our outpatient facilities or WMG practices only bring a support person if clinically required. When possible, please have the visitor remain in the car during the patient visit to limit the number of people in our waiting areas.

Thank you for your understanding during this challenging time. At Williamson Medical Center, we provide our patients with the highest-quality and compassionate care in a way that protects their safety and that of others. Our staff is dedicated to making sure every individual is cared for and treated like family.
