FRANKLIN, Tenn.–Williamson Medical Center is proud to help make one of the most unique fashion shows in Middle Tennessee possible. The “ABC Heroes in Heels” show allows dozens of local breast cancer survivors to walk the runway. This month, shows will be held in Murfreesboro and Franklin.
The events are put together by the “After Breast Cancer” program (ABC) of the Middle Tennessee YMCA. The ABC provides, “comprehensive exercise, nutrition and wellness services free of charge to breast cancer patients and survivors,” according to its presence online.
“Heroes in Heels” is just one of the events it runs, celebrating the “passion, commitment and tenacity” of its members. The show is also hoped to raise awareness of the After Breast Cancer program’s efforts. With October being Breast Cancer Awareness month, there is no better time to hold the fashion shows.
Proceeds will benefit the local YMCAs and their After Breast Cancer programs. ABC support is also offered at the Bellevue, Clarksville, Green Hills, Margaret Maddox, Robertson County and Sumner County YMCAs.
