While you are in the hospital, an expert in hospital medicine called a hospitalist will supervise and coordinate your care. Hospitalists are experts who know how to deliver the most effective and efficient care while you are in the hospital.
Our team of hospitalists is committed to providing excellent care for all patients. Hospitalists are physicians who practice exclusively in the hospital setting and are available to care for our patients 24-hours a day, 365 days a year. They work closely with specialists, hospital staff and your personal physicians to ensure that you and your family get the best possible care.
Since hospitalists are based at the hospital, medical decisions are made as quickly as situations arise. Treatments can be modified, test results are obtained faster and follow-up response time is greatly reduced. This helps prevent medical complications, reduce hospital stays and enhance hospital efficiency. In addition, our hospitalists have extensive training and hospital experience in caring for severely ill or injured patients. This results in more rapid and accurate clinical decision making for better outcomes and fewer readmissions.

Our Hospitalist Providers:
- Serve as the head of your healthcare team while you are in the hospital. He or she will coordinate care with other specialists, nurses, rehabilitative services, pharmacy and social services.
- Notify your primary care provider (PCP) regarding your condition and plan when you are admitted to the hospital.
- Are available 24-hours a day, seven days a week.
- Will provide you with any prescriptions you may need until your follow-up appointment.
- Will provide your PCP with a detailed report of findings and treatment plans from your stay. If you do not have a primary care physician, the hospitalist will refer you to one when it is time for you to be discharged.
